1. Choose the type of bed

We have divided our divan beds into three simple categories: open coil, memory foam and pocket sprung.
These are indicated by colour-coded icons. Each type of bed offers different mattress characteristics and levels of support. If a combination of types is right for you, look out for beds that have more than one coloured icon.

The separate springs are arranged in rows and connected to one another by a spiral wire. An outer rod strengthens the edge of the mattress. Some higher quality beds will use a continual spring system, made from one piece of wire shaped into a series of springs. A popular choice that provides good support.

Look out for the icon displaying the spring count. The greater the number of springs, the better the support (spring count refers to a 5ft King Size mattress).

This relatively new type of material has a unique feel and slowly responds to your body temperature and weight. It slowly recovers its original shape when the heat and pressure is removed. A unique combination of support and comfort, with good pressure relieving properties.

Look out for the icon displaying the amount of memory foam. Our three classifications (stars) give an indication of the depth of memory foam used. The greater the depth, the higher the degree of comfort levels, conformity to body shape and pressure relief.

Each spring is housed in its own individual fabric pocket. This enables the springs to work independently of one another, offering unique support to the body shape and preventing pressure points. A luxurious sleeping experience with the highest level of support.

Look out for the icon displaying the spring count. The higher the number of pocket springs, the more responsive the bed is to your body’s curves (spring count refers to a 5ft King Size mattress).
