Cricket fans 'can return to normal sleeping patterns'

Cricket fans across England may be breathing a sigh of relief after the Ashes was finally rounded off this morning (January 7th), meaning individuals can return to getting to bed at a normal hour.

The Wisden Cricketer blog notes there have been plenty of moments over the last seven weeks where the decision to stay out of a Divan bed and keep up with the latest developments down under has seemed a good move.

But some may be left wondering how healthy it is to deprive oneself of rest in order to witness England’s remarkable triumph against the Baggy Greens.

Naming its top five sleep-deprived moments, the online publication suggests the first mornings of the Adelaide and Brisbane Tests were must-sees, while the whole of the opening day at Melbourne was memorable.

But it is those who took an early night in their bed and arose early who would have seen another of the highlights – Kevin Pietersen dismissing Michael Clarke in the final ball of the day at Adelaide.

England’s 3-1 success in Australia is the first time they have won in the country since 1987
