Headboards ‘should make a statement’
An expert has advised people to consider making a statement with their headboard when they design their bedrooms.
In an article on Homes-Extra.ca, designer Cheryll Gillespie notes the current winter freeze provides people with plenty of time to plan their dream sleeping spaces.
She advises making headboards the focal point, using it to set “the tone and the mood of the room” and playing with scale to create a dramatic look that catches the eye of those entering it.
Meanwhile, selecting the right type of bed frames and mattresses could also help with renting out rooms.
This is according to the Express and Star, which suggested matching the types of wood bedroom furniture is constructed from in order to make spaces look attractive.
For example, the newspaper article on “setting up a professional house share” advised pairing a pine bed with a wardrobe from the same variety of tree in order to keep tenants happy.
