Mattresses ‘should be as comfortable as possible’
One writer has suggested that people should ensure that they have the most comfortable mattresses possible when organising their bedrooms.
In an article for website Helium.com, Elaine Doxie advised that memory foam mattresses or mattress toppers could be a good investment to improve sleeping conditions.
She gave a series of tips for enhancing the comfort of bedrooms on a budget, stating: “Once you have your mattress as comfortable as it can get, move on to what goes on the bed.”
Ms Doxie recommended investing in 300 or more thread count sheets and said that having an attractive space takes “a little bit of creativity and a dose of patience”.
On bedroom furniture, she suggested only putting as much in a room as will fit and allow for adequate space to move around, while softer, warmer fabrics and colours can create “an illusion of comfort”.
Meanwhile, Linda Aviles wrote recently for blog Technorati that sleeping spaces should be “calming and inviting” in order to soothe the mind.
