Storage under the bed "is a good solution"
Having storage solutions under the bed is a “good solution” for reducing clutter, it has been claimed.
This is according to interior design expert Susan Llewellyn, who advocates getting rid of items for which people no longer have a use for, such as articles of clothing.
She also emphasises the importance of storage solutions for decluttering homes and bedrooms, advising people to put things in boxes and keep them in attics or garages where possible.
“The main thing is to keep a cupboard or a chest of drawers,” the head of Susan Llewellyn Associates said, turning to bedroom furniture and adding that shoe racks can help to keep things tidy.
With regard to the care of items, she advised people to “clean good wood furniture twice a year” and to dust and polish regularly.
Meanwhile, interior decorator Candice Olson recently wrote in the Seattle Times about how she helped a couple organise their master bedroom, which had become cluttered with an office nook and an exercise bike, in addition to bedroom furniture.
