Tips for Better Sleep
Getting to sleep quickly and easily is an unobtainable goal for many. However, there are many things you can try in order to speed the process along. Here are a few of the best:
1. Take a hot bath/shower before bed
Bathing before sleep is a little known, but incredibly effective sleep tip. The reason it works so well is that cooling down afterwards triggers an internal signal that it is time to go to sleep. If you have a hot bath or shower 90 minutes before bed, it leaves a good length of time in which to cool down sufficiently to induce sleep.
2. Progressive muscle tensing and relaxation
Tense and relax your muscles muscle one by one, starting at your hands or toes. Once you’ve finished you’ll find it very hard to keep your eyes open!
3. Avoid food
Avoid food at least two hours before bed. Digestion keeps the body awake and various foods contain stimulants or sugar. Leaving a longer time between eating and bed will also help you lose weight.
