Duvets

Everyone has a slightly different idea on what the perfect duvet should deliver. With that in mind, we have created a range of duvets to suit every type of sleeper. Explore the different fillings and TOG ratings available below to find the right fit for your personal preferences.

What tog is a winter duvet?

In winter, we all crave the comfort of climbing into the bed after a dull and drizzly day. And that 15 TOG thick duvet you had in mind? Well, while you’re dreaming of a 15 TOG double duvet, a winter duvet in the UK climate should actually be somewhere between a 10.5 TOG duvet and a 13.5 TOG double duvet is much more appropriate. This will ensure you stay snug as a bug while all those other bugs are busy hibernating.

A great 2-in-1 product we offer is the Slumberland All Seasons Duvet. This duvet has been uniquely developed to ensure you are equipped with a duvet for every weather scenario. It comes with both a 9 TOG duvet and a 4.5 TOG duvet. You can use either or both as the temperature (or season) dictates.

What tog is a summer duvet?

If you’ve ever tried to get to sleep when the mercury begins to rise, you’ll know how tricky sleeping in the heat is. And so, in summer, we’d recommend switching out your usual duvet for one with a substantially lower TOG. A 4.5 TOG duvet is actually ideal for the summertime. And remember, you can meet all your duvet needs with a single purchase with the Slumberland All Seasons Duvet. This is available in single, double, king, and super king quilt sizes.

What size duvet do I need?

Generally, the size of your bed and mattress will dictate which duvet size you need. But not always.

For example, those with a small single bed might automatically assume that a small single duvet is necessary. But, so that your duvet is big enough for an adult to feel comfy enough and amply covered, a single quilt is a better option in many cases.

Single beds are designed to suit solo sleepers whatever their age, and so the logical choice would be a single duvet.

Small double beds (aka queen size beds) tend to operate on the same principal as small single beds. Where you might this a small double duvet (or queen duvet to some) is the right choice, if you plan for your small double bed to sleep two people, a double duvet is another option to consider. A double duvet provides much more room for two people sharing a bed to stay warm.

Double beds demand a double quilt. Just as double beds have been made to sleep two people, double duvets have been made to keep two people cosy throughout the night.

King size duvets are tailored to king size beds and mattresses. The measurement of a king size duvet is 230 x 220cm which makes a king size quilt great for snuggling up. We offer plenty of different king size duvet types, tailored to a range of different sleep needs.

If you have a super king bed, you’ll need a super king duvet. Super king duvets are 260 x 220cm and provide plenty of room for cuddling in bed. Explore our collection of super king quilt types to find the right fit for your needs.

If you’re shopping for a particular duvet size, you can always narrow down the results by using the handy filters at the top of the page.

Which duvet is best for my child?

When shopping for a child’s duvet, single is the first thing that comes to mind. However, that will depend a little on your child’s bed size. For example, if they have a king size bed, duvet size will also need to be king size.

But if your child has a single bed, single quilts are a great choice, chuck on a snuggly blanket comforter if they get cold and they’re sure to be all set with everything they need.

Our collection of duvets even expands to anti allergy duvet designs which can be a welcome solution for children suffering from eczema or allergies. Hypoallergenic qualities can be a valuable proposition in duvet for all types of sleepers.
