Natural, Sustainable Materials
Hypnos offers sublime comfort with sustainability at its heart. We’re proud that the mattresses in the Inspired by Nature Collection, created exclusively for Bensons, are lovingly handcrafted using traditional skills, free from foam and made from certified sustainable and recyclable materials.
Each mattress is enriched with natural fillings including British wool traceable to farms certified by the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and responsibly sourced cotton. Hypnos works with trusted initiatives such as RWS, Global Organic Textile Standard, Better Cotton Initiative, The Woolkeepers® and the Global Recycled Standard to champion responsible farming and ethical trade.
Hypnos also make use a variety of innovative plant fibres throughout the Inspired By Nature Collection. Fibres sourced from banana, pineapple and orange trees, as well as breathable natural latex, provide unparallelled responsive support and comfort with integrity.
Handcrafted mattresses made in the UK
Each mattress in the Inspired by Nature Collection is handcrafted in Hypnos’ workshops in Buckinghamshire. Finest natural fibres are carefully layered on each side of expertly engineered pocket springs. These layers are held in place beneath a luxurious Belgian damask, made fire resistant naturally without the addition of harmful chemicals.
The tailored border is finished with chrome vents to help keep the mattress cool and is authentically hand side-stitched to the pocket springs for enhanced edge support. The top and bottom damask covers are then hand-tufted, securing each layer under tension to create a beautifully plush and supportive sleeping surface.
