What bed sizes are available at Bensons for Beds?

Your bed is one of the constants in your life. That’s why choosing your bed can be tricky. Over time, your storage needs change, trends come and go, and little kids grow up. Find a bed that will hold up during life’s big changes in our wide range.

We have a range of bed sizes, from a small single to super king. Our small single bedsand single beds are ideal for a guest room, child's room, or teenager’s room. For a smaller space, these cosy beds are a perfect fit.

If you are after something roomier, a small double bed could be just what you need. Also known as three-quarter beds, a small double is larger than a single but smaller than a double. Small double divan beds are ideal when you’re looking for more floor space – with under bed storage drawers, they provide just as much storage as some dressers can. Alternatively, a small double tv bed is ideal for children and teenagers alike – giving them a dedicated space where they can relax and watch their favourite movies and shows.

A double bed can make a stunning centrepiece in a bedroom. It’s perfect for both master bedrooms and guest bedrooms alike. With an upholstered headboard, it’ll be sumptuously cosy, and bound to impress.

If you want to really treat yourself – opt for a king size bed or super-king-size-bed. These beds will give you ample room to lounge and stretch, just like a member of royalty might. Add a memory foam, super king or king size mattress for a feeling of ultimate comfort.

What are standard super king and king size bed dimensions in the UK?

Not for the faint of heart – super king size beds are made for masters in relaxation. If you like to stretch out in bed – and even if you sleep with a partner who does, too – you’ll have plenty of room in a super king size bed. Measuring at 180X200cm – there’s a whole lot of bed to love.

Standard king size bed dimensions are 150X200cm in the UK. King size beds are ideal for couples or single adults. They are perfectly suited to a medium or large sized room, and make a great feature piece – particularly with bedside tables on either side.

Make your king size bed your own – ours come in a range of materials, from wooden, to metal, to fabric. Available in a range of styles and colours, with or without headboard, there’s a king size bed for every kind of space.

How do I choose a King size mattress?

Every sleeper is a little bit different, which means the kind of support that everyone needs is unique. Whether you need an orthopaedic, memory foam, or pocket sprung king size mattress – we’ll have what you’re looking for at Bensons for Beds.

But support isn’t the only thing to consider when choosing a mattress. Some of our mattresses are specially designed to regulate temperature – like our iGel Advance 1600i mattress and many are hypoallergenic. Your choice is almost endless!

What is a double bed size in the UK?

A double bed size in the UK is 135X190cm. This is plenty of room to sleep two people snugly, and it’s also well-suited to teens or adults sleeping by themselves. We also have small double beds, which are 120X190cm. These are a great alternative to a full-sized double bed, giving you a little bit of extra floorspace for other bedroom furniture. Some of our double beds are available within curated furniture collections, which means there is a range of furniture that is specially designed to perfectly match your bed.

What mattress sizes are best for couples?

Ideally, if you’re sleeping with a partner you’ll want enough room for both of you to stretch out. This makes for a much more comfortable, uninterrupted, and restful sleep. Depending on the size of your room, many mattress sizes will accommodate couples – from a double up to a super king.

It’s also important to consider what kind of mattress you use when sharing a bed. Some mattresses, such as pocket sprung mattresses, are designed to provide a more stable, even, and responsive sleep surface, which means you are less likely to wake up your partner if you move around, and vice versa.
