What is included in the Lifetime Guarantee?
At Bensons for Beds, we provide a Lifetime Guarantee in accordance with these Terms and Conditions on all new products from our ranges of divans, bed frames, mattresses, headboards, sofa beds, bedroom furniture and kids’ beds and furniture.
How do I Make a Claim on the Guarantee?
To make a claim under this guarantee:

• Provide your order/reference number and proof of purchase
• Provide details of the issue, including photography where reasonably requested.
If you would like us to discuss your claim with a third party, you must provide
permission.
We reserve the right to arrange for an inspection by an independent specialist. An inspection fee may apply (currently £60) which will be paid by you but will be refunded if the claim is upheld.
Terms and Conditions for Your Lifetime Guarantee
At Bensons, we go to extra lengths to ensure every customer enjoys a great night’s sleep. With our Lifetime Guarantee at no extra cost, we’ve got it covered — but we’ll leave the sleeping up to you.
1. What is Guaranteed?
At Bensons for Beds, we provide a Lifetime Guarantee in accordance with these Terms and Conditions on all new products from our ranges of divans, bed frames, mattresses, headboards, sofa beds, bedroom furniture and kids’ beds and furniture (“Products”).
Products sold not as new such as ‘Refurbished’, ‘Clearance’ or ‘Ex-display’ are excluded from this Lifetime Guarantee, although you may wish to check if they could be covered by any manufacturer’s guarantee.
If there is such a manufacturer’s guarantee then please ensure that you register any such guarantee if so requested. If you have not done this and therefore you have no manufacturer’s guarantee this may affect your ability to claim under this Lifetime Guarantee.
Our Lifetime Guarantee means that we will, subject to these Terms & Conditions, at our sole discretion either repair, replace or offer a replacement credit where a Product is found in the sole opinion of Bensons to be defective due to faulty materials or workmanship.
This Lifetime Guarantee does not affect any statutory rights that you may have. It applies in addition to any manufacturer’s guarantee, and unless the manufacturer also offers a lifetime guarantee will continue after such a manufacturer guarantee expire.
Please do check your Product carefully upon delivery and contact our Customer Services team on 0333 222 6800 as soon as possible if there are any issues.
2. What is covered
As stated above, the Lifetime Guarantee covers defects in material and workmanship for the period that you own the Product commencing on the date that the Product is delivered to you.
3. Where does the Lifetime Guarantee apply?
The Lifetime Guarantee applies to customers who are resident in Great Britain and where the product has been delivered to an address within Great Britain.
The Lifetime Guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. Please retain a copy of your invoice as both proof of purchase and also that you are the original purchaser.
The Lifetime Guarantee does not apply where products are taken outside of Great Britain.
4. What is excluded from the Lifetime Guarantee?
The Lifetime Guarantee does not cover:
- Damage through misuse, abuse, or deliberate/wilful damage
- Accidental damage or damage caused by negligence
- Incorrect assembly or storage (e.g. damp conditions or direct sunlight)
- Damage caused by environmental factors such as humidity or heat sources
- Normal wear and tear including staining, excessive soiling, settlement, and flattening
- Dye transfer from fabrics, clothing or non-colourfast materials, or damage from cosmetic products
- Failure to follow care instructions or product guidance
- Any unauthorised alterations or repairs carried out by third parties
- Any exclusions from any manufacturer’s guarantee for the Product or any claims that are also covered by a manufacturer’s guarantee on a Product whether or not you have carried out the necessary actions to ensure that the manufacturer’s guarantee is in place.
The Products are intended for private domestic use only. Save for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, Bensons liability is limited to the original purchase value of the Product, with any indirect or consequential loss being excluded.
5. How do I make a claim on the Guarantee?
To make a claim under this guarantee:

6. What happens if a claim is valid?
During any Manufacturer’s Guarantee period on the Product
Where applicable, at Bensons sole discretion we will repair or replace the Product in line with the terms of the manufacturer’s guarantee. A replacement Product will as far as possible be the equivalent in terms of specification and cost.
Beyond the Manufacturer’s Guarantee or where there is no Manufacturer’s Guarantee
Where at Bensons sole discretion a repair is not possible or not economically viable, and a valid claim is accepted when either there is no manufacturer’s guarantee or after the expiry of the manufacturer’s guarantee for a Product, Bensons will offer a credit towards a replacement product. This credit will be calculated as a percentage of the original purchase price of the Product, based on the time elapsed since the end of the manufacturer’s guarantee (or date of purchase if there is no manufacturer’s guarantee for the Product), as follows:
- 1st year beyond the manufacturer’s guarantee (or 1st year from the date of purchase if no manufacturer’s guarantee): 75% credit
- 2nd–4th year beyond the manufacturer’s guarantee (or 2nd-4th year from the date of purchase if no manufacturer’s guarantee): 50% credit
- 5th–7th year beyond the manufacturer’s guarantee (or 5th-7th year from the date of purchase if no manufacturer’s guarantee): 25% credit
- More than 7 years beyond the manufacturer’s guarantee (or 7 years and thereafter from the date of purchase if no manufacturer’s guarantee): 10% credit
The level of credit applied will take into account the age, condition and expected remaining lifespan of the product.
Bensons for Beds reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, the appropriate percentage of credit to be applied within the above ranges, based on the individual circumstances of each claim. Bensons decision on the appropriate percentage of credit is final.
7. General Conditions
- Credits are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash
- Any repair or replacement Product does not restart or extend the guarantee
- Where Products form part of a set, only the defective item will be covered.
8. Your Rights
This guarantee is offered by Bensons for Beds Retail Ltd, The Globe Centre, 1 St James Square, Accrington, BB5 0RE. This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights including those under the Consumer Rights Act, which are not affected. For more information on your statutory rights please contact the Citizens Advice Bureau (https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/) or Trading Standards (https://www.tradingstandards.uk/consumer-help/) You may also refer any complaints to The Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman (https://www.fhio.org/).
For the avoidance of doubt, Bensons for Beds reserves the right to:
- Check whether there is a manufacturer’s guarantee for the Product and whether the manufacturer’s guarantee covers (or would have covered) the issue with the Product.
- Decide whether a Product is defective due to faulty material or workmanship and whether therefore the Lifetime Guarantee applies to the Product.
- Decide whether to repair, replace or provide replacement credit in relation to a Product
- Amend or withdraw this Liability Guarantee at any time without notice (without affecting any existing valid Liability Guarantees)
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
